What We Have Accomplished

Feeding the children
The Kids are gathered at the CBCC (Child Based Care Centres) where they attend their classes. They don’t just go to learn but also to eat some of the nutritious foods SOM (SAVE Orphans MINISTRY) purchases. They take porridge at break time. This Porridge is very rich in nutrients that from the time they started getting this porridge their bodies have completely changed for the better. They also eat Nsima with Kapenta at Lunch.

Fruit Trees
The picture below is showing some of the fruit trees which were planted at the Therapy Centre in Chipusile Village in Ntcheu District. The trees were purchased with the funds from raising Malawi through NOVOC. The fruits will help to boost the immunity of the children who are affected by H.I.V/AIDS. There are different types of fruit trees. I.e. Guavas, Avocado pears, Paw-paws, Lemons, Mangoes just to mention a few.

Therapy Center
There is hope that coming as the orphans and all those affected with H.I.V /AIDS will sing a joyful song together. This will be done after the completion of the therapy centre in Ntcheu below.

Bricks
The kiln of Bricks below was molded by Kalonga village T/A Chimwala and Mkhwezalamba in the T/A Kwataine Ntcheu. These people want to construct a CBCC where their children will go to attend nursery school that will be close to them.

CBCC
In most areas where SOM is working, people are busy with different activities. One of the areas is in Ntcheu and Mangochi (Songa) where people are busy constructing the CBCC as seen above. The Kids Looking on are the kids in their uniform sown by the tailor. These graduated from the CBCC to start primary School Standard 1. Most of them are Orphans and Vulnerable.

Program Goal
Build capacity of CBOs to effectively support and enable OVC to realize their fullest potential and to meaningfully contribute to national development.
