NOVOC is a Malawian non-government umbrella organization based in Lilongwe. We network Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) service providers, building their capacity, thus improving the quality of services to OVCs n Malawi.
We were born in 2001, following an historic meeting where public and private orphan-care stakeholders agreed on the need for an umbrella and advocacy organization for OVCs.
Our Mission
“NOVOC exists to promote, assist and empower individuals and organizations involved with the care and support of orphans and vulnerable children so as to create and increase services and thereby improve their quality of life”.

Our Vision
The Malawi OVC population provided with adequate holistic support and care in order to effectively integrate them into the economically productive segment of the population.
Our Core Work Areas
- Child Protection & Advocacy – advocate for effective policies and legislation that promote child rights and interests
- Psychosocial Support & Early Childhood Development – organize psychosocial support training for those involved in OVC care
- Food Security – promote food security among vulnerable households
- Networking & Capacity Building – increase collaboration and communication between OVC stakeholders to improve quality of service and benefit more children
- Resource Mobilization – link members with organizations willing to provide financial, technical, material assistance
